Hungry for Creativity
Fundraiser celebrating the stories and work of the art therapy group members
Please join The Art Station at The Taste Project for “Hungry for Creativity,” an art show fundraiser celebrating the stories and work of the art therapy group members of the Community Crossroads Outreach Center, a ministry of First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth.
The Community Crossroads art therapy group serves people who are homeless and/or under-resourced and seeks to promote dignity, resilience, self-worth, and empowerment promoting social change through the art therapy process. Art therapy at Community Crossroads has grown substantially over the last year, where individuals have described the group as a “beacon of light in a dark world” and a safe haven for expression.
This collaboration between three non-profits, The Art Station, Community Crossroads Outreach Center, and The Taste Project will be held at the Taste Project as a pivate viewing gallery for the 'featured artists' being those who participate in the art therapy group provided by the Art Station therapists and hosted by Community Crossroads. The Taste Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit established simply to feed people one community at a time.
Hungry for Creativity stemmed from an organic development within the art therapy group at Community Crossroads where group members began to ask for new ways to tell their stories to the community. This event represents a unique community collaboration between The Taste Project, First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth, and The Art Station. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be earmarked to perpetuate the Community Crossroads art therapy group.
