Jodi Kitson grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor’s in Art Education. Jodi has been painting large-scale murals and smaller- scale paintings with acrylics since she was 16 and has been teaching art for 10 years in the public school system. When she carves out time to paint between her kids' soccer games, gymnastics, teaching, chauffeuring and snuggling, she paints what makes her intrinsically happy. Her recent works explore motherhood, childhood and the complexities and joys of both both with portraiture, florals and complex color experimentation. Her work use exaggerated, vibrant tones and soft, layered brush strokes in order to convey feelings of the artist and to evoke a pleased, relaxed feeling within the viewer. Jodi also keeps busy by painting commissions of families, both the furry kind and human kind alike.
