Construction Begins on New Park in South Main Village

May 08, 2019

In late April, construction officially began on the first of two new parks in the South Main area. The Skinny, a multifunctional, linear park, is expected to be completed by the fall. The park was created as part of a partnership with Stonehawk Capital Partners, developers behind The Bowery, a new multifamily apartment and townhome project.

Construction of The Bowery included an extension of Crawford Street all the way to East Broadway. The connecting of the streets left a long strip of land that runs along the alley behind HopFusion and the Miller Lofts, and directly across Crawford from The Bowery. In a partnership with the City of Fort Worth, the park is being built to serve the growing number of residents and visitors to South Main Village.

Just a few blocks to the southeast, Calhound Park, a dog park that sits just off of Calhoun Street, will also begin construction soon. The design for both parks came from TBG Partners.
